RABAT, July 29 (Xinhua) -- The defending champions Wydad Casablanca of Morocco defeated Guinea's Horoya Conakry 2-0 on Saturday night in the African Champions League.
At Mohammed V Complex in Casablanca, the hosts secured their win in the first 20 minutes of the game.
Ibrahim Comara gave an early lead to the Moroccan team with a header from a corner in the 12th minute, before Mohamed Onajem scored the second goal six minutes later.
After this victory, the title favorites remained in the first spot of Group C with eight points from two home wins and two away draws.
Horoya lost its second position to Mamelodi Sundowns with five points for both teams, but with a superior goal difference to the South Africans. The Togolese side Togo-Port are in the last place with three points.
In the next game, Wydad will host Mamelodi Sundowns' in Casablanca, while Horoya will face Togo-Port.
